Dermody Cleaners of Taunton is holding it’s 12th annual Food Drive

During the month of November, Dermody Cleaners of Taunton is holding it’s 12th annual Food Drive and this year they are choosing to support the St. Vincent dePaul food pantry.

Residents of the greater Taunton, Somerset, and Lakeville areas are invited to bring donated items to any Dermody Cleaners location. With the winter holiday season approaching, plus the added stress of the pandemic, the need for donations is most crucial.

Dermody Cleaners has partnered with St. Vincent dePaul for nearly 30 years with a Coats for Kids campaign, and this Food Drive is a great addition. This is the second food drive Dermody has run in support of them, the first was held this past spring in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the drastic need in our community.

Food items can be dropped off in-person at any Dermody Cleaners location or by including them with your clothing on our Home Pickup & Delivery service. Dermody Cleaners requires that all donated items are non-perishable and must be in non-glass containers. The most requested items are peanut butter, canned tuna, spaghetti sauce, ketchup, cereal, and dry pasta.

Dermody Cleaners has been serving Taunton since 1955, and currently has two locations in the city. The main store is located at 34 Cohannet Street in Downtown Taunton. There is a second Taunton location that offers drycleaning and a coin operated laundry at 648 County Street, a drop-off location at 220 Bedford St. in Lakeville and another drop-off location at 1273 GAR Highway in Somerset. For added convenience, customers can elect to have their dry cleaning picked up and delivered to their home or office in the communities of Taunton, Attleboro, N. Attleboro, Raynham, Norton, Mansfield, and Lakeville.
